Lanzarote Airport (ACE)

Arrecife airport (ACE) also know as Lanzarote Airport, is located just outside the town of Arrecife on the east of the island.

The airport operates flights to a wide variety of destinations across Europe as well as internal flights to Madrid, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife. Many major world airlines operate through Arrecife airport including British Airways, Easyjet, Thomas Cook, ThomsonflyRyanair, and Vueling.

According to the Canary Islands Statistics Institute (ISTAC), 6,128,971 passengers passed through Terminal 1 2015. Most passengers come from the EU, with those from the UK and Germany accounting for nearly three-quarters of international traffic.

The airport has experienced rapid development since it first began operating domestic and international passenger flights at the beginning of the 1970s.

It has continued to expand, develop and improve to make room for increasing levels of traffic. Terminal 1 opened in 1999 with an operational capacity of six million passengers annually. The original passenger terminal has since been converted into an aviation museum.

Lanzarote Airport – Terminal 1

 

Terminal: 1 (T1) has gates from 1 to 12. It’s the main terminal and the busiest at Lanzarote airport, it handles all the International and Domestic flights.

 

Airlines: All airlines operating at Lanzarote use terminal 1 except Binter.

 

Terminal 2: (T2) has three boarding gates. It operates as the Inter-island Terminal and cargo terminal

 


 

” Where do I go after arriving at lanzarote airport ? “

When you’ve left the airplane follow the signs to passport control, after passing through passport control you’ll find 12 luggage collection belts, toilets and 9 car hire company offices. After collecting your luggage head through the automatic sliding doors ( Note: You will not be able to re-enter the luggage area after exiting )

Car Hire –  Depending on the car hire company you use you’ll find their office either inside the terminal or upstairs by the car park.

 

Taxi’s – Once you’ve come out of the luggage area, Head straight outside and you’ll find the taxi rank.

 

Bus – Turn right walk down the corridor and head outside, you’ll find the bus stop on the left.  The bus runs every hour Mon-Fri and every 2 hours Saturday. The bus doesn’t run on Sundays.  Bus tickets cost 3.30€ to Playa Blanca

Airport check in

 

” Where do I go to check-in my bags? “

Once you arrive at the airport go to departures which is on the top floor, you’ll see multiple check-in desks.
view the departures information board to see which desk to go to, It’s recommended to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before your flight.

 

 

” How do I get to the departure lounge ?”

Once you have checked in your baggage or if you are only traveling with cabin luggage walk past the check-in desks and turn left walk to the far left side of the terminal where you’ll arrive at security.

 

 

Security Checkpoint

Before entering the security checkpoint. Passengers will be asked for their boarding pass and passport make sure you have this ready after they’ve scanned it you’ll be allowed to pass.

Passengers must pass through metal detectors at the security checkpoint and their hand luggage and any other objects must undergo an x-ray inspection. Electronics such as Tablets, Mobiles, Laptop must go through the x-ray outside of the bag
