Villas in Marina Rubicon, Playa Blanca, Lanzarote

An amazing experience awaits you at this Oceanside up market, Marina Rubicon, completed in 2002, just a few minutes drive out of Playa Blanca village.

Amongst the 400 berths, there are sleek and stylish yachts bobbing on their moorings.

You can take a trip on the super Rubicat, a 23 metre, double hull Catamaran, which will sail you to Papagayo beaches where you can snorkel and swim in crystal clear waters or Jet Ski over the ocean.

Rubisail is a sail school where you can take a sailing course and qualify as a Captain!  Or the smaller kayaks are available to paddle around, or why not try diving?

There is a fantastic range of shops, selling designer labels and local makes, perfume, and jewellery shops, up market boutiques, and an art gallery.

The Marina even has its very own Church, towards the end, near the Volcan Hotel which hugs the perimeter of the Marina, well worth a look in, as the entrance is modeled on a traditional village, the gardens are amazing.  There is certainly something for everyone.

Wednesday and Saturday see the Marina Square transformed into a marketplace.  A wide range of stalls offers you local crafts, clothes, souvenirs, foods and wine.  A brilliant atmosphere prevails.

If you enjoy dining out, you will be in heaven, here, with local tapas available through to fine dining and a great deal of gourmet delights in-between.  Arte de Pasta has the best pizzas and pasta ask the owner Salvatore if you can sit at the Mafia table, complete with an inlaid gun display and Godfather pictures! You can often listen to singers while you dine in the evening.

The chilled out sounds of music from Café del Mar will lull you while you rest and relax in the laid back white draped surroundings of the cafe, or sip cocktails in the beautifully tranquil indoor garden area.

For a small fee, you can use the freshwater swimming pool at the Marina, often a great place to spend your last day if you have a late flight home.

While fresh fish are certainly available on the restaurant menus, you can easily see them swimming in the clear sea. There is a fantastic boardwalk and you are surrounded by water. Take some bread to feed the fish, or ask at whichever places you are dining for some, and watch the shoals devour it like Piranhas! They are only usually Mullet though! You might be lucky enough to see a Moray eel poking its face out of the rocks and crabs sidestepping around.

Through the summer the Marina hosts programmed free events, including, music, parades, bouncy castles and face painting for children. The indoor shopping arena is topped with a ten-pin bowling alley and has a mini sized amusement arcade for children on the ground floor. The Max coop supermarket is also located on the ground floor, just follow the signs and park underneath. Whatever time of day, whichever day of the week, however old you are a visit to the 5 star Marina Rubicon is not to be missed.
